Rules

The whole arrangement

One global leaderboard, ordered by what people paid for it. No accounts, no jury, no categories. These are the rules the code actually follows.

1. 01

   A listing is a domain

   The protocol, the www and the trailing slash are stripped and the host is lowercased. What is left is the listing. Two URLs that reduce to the same domain are one listing, and there is never a second row for it.

2. 02

   There is a floor

   $5 is the least that puts a domain on the board. You can open higher, in whole dollars, and land wherever that amount lands. A payment that arrives below the floor is not a listing.

3. 03

   Rank is the sort, and nothing else

   No rank is stored. The board is ordered by what each listing paid, older bids ahead of newer ones at the same amount, computed on every read. There is no editorial judgement in that order and no way to buy an exception to it.

4. 04

   Taking a rank has a published price

   Taking a rank costs $1 more than whoever is holding it, rounded up to a whole dollar. The increment is flat, so passing a five-figure bid costs the same dollar as passing the floor, and every row on the board carries its own price.

5. 05

   Paying again raises your listing

   A second payment on a domain already on the board raises that listing rather than adding another. A raise always costs more than the bid it replaces, so it always buys something — even when it does not move you, it raises what anybody else has to pay to take you. The name, tagline and link you submit with a raise replace the ones already there.

6. 06

   The price can move while you are paying

   Somebody else can pay between the click and the payment. You land where your money lands, not where the button said you would; the confirmation page tells you the rank you actually got and what closing the gap would cost. That is the rule working, not a fault, and it is not a refund.

7. 07

   A rank has no expiry

   A bid stands until somebody pays more than it. That may be an hour or it may be never. Being outranked is the mechanic and not a failure of it, so nothing is owed when it happens. No email goes out when it happens. The listing that lost the rank carries the fact, and the price of taking it back, on its own page.

8. 08

   What we remove

   Anything illegal, anything carrying malware or phishing, anything adult, and anything that exists to target a person. Some of it is refused at checkout by pattern. The rest is a judgement made afterwards by one person. A removed listing disappears from every page here, and it is removed without notice and without a refund.

9. 09

   This is entertainment, not inventory

   The board is a game about money. Nothing here is sold as advertising: no traffic is promised, no impressions, no clicks, no placement and no duration. Clicks are counted and published because they are real, never because they were guaranteed.

All sales are final: the refund policy says what that means and what a payment provider can still do about it. The terms are the agreement itself, the privacy policy lists what is stored, and the click figures are public on the stats page.
